Overheard in the Classroom

"Empathy is a currency."- Rob Larson
I think that this is a good quote because I think that empathy IS a currency.  You can choose if you want to spend your "money" on certain circumstances or if you want to "save" it for a later time.

"At what point are you no longer YOU?"- Rob Larson
I think that this is an important thing to think about because technology is constantly changing the world that we live in.  There is also the question of questioning where we came from and what is our purpose here-these questions can sometimes make people question who they actually are.

"There's zero correlation between being the best talker and having the best ideas."- Susan Cain
This is really important to me because I am a very shy person and because of it I do not share my ideas very often.  Being quiet does not mean that you do not have anything good to say, and being talkative does not mean that your ideas are any better.

"You can be mean to your closest friends and get away with it."-Rob Larson
This is SO true because this is the type of relationship that happens between me and my best friend.  It is way easier to be mean to your best friend because we know each other so well, so it doesn't affect us at all.

"Bored people are boring."- Rob Larson
I never really thought of it like this, but I can see where it makes sense. I must be pretty boring because I get bored a lot.  I do not have a very exciting life-it's very routine based but it works for me.

"If you don't believe in yourself, who else is going to?"-Danica's speech by Marilyn Monroe
I love this quote because it really says why you should believe in yourself: because if you don't, who will?

"Courage is not NOT having fear; it's having fear but still doing it anyway.  That's what bravery is."
-Rob Larson

"What if you're not the hero, but the bad guy of your own life story?"- Rob Larson
